The 20/21 Season is going to look a little different, but it will still showcase ACBA’s growing creativity and high standard of classical ballet. We are committed to moving forward with the best season for our dancers and audiences in the safest way possible. We will follow state and local mandates/health protocols, while remaining flexible and responsive to the ongoing needs and concerns of our patrons and families. Our reimagined season will showcase seven performances from the comfort and safety of your home with ACBA’s first ever digital season.

Sleeping Beauty Fairies

Excerpt from Sleeping Beauty

The Sleeping Beauty Fairies is an excerpt from The Sleeping Beauty Ballet choreographed by Marius Petipa performed to Tchaikovsky's score. Six fairies are invited to the new princess’ christening to bestow gifts on Princess Aurora. Watch as the beautiful fairies bestow gifts of virtue to Princess Aurora before the ceremony is interrupted by the evil fairy Carabosse who curses the baby because she wasn’t invited.

Beauty and Grace

Chopiniana is a short, non-narrative ballet blanc. This romantic era ballet is the first ballet to be about mood and dance. It has no plot but consists of several white-clad sylphs dancing in the moonlight with the poet. Don’t miss out on this beautiful display of beauty and grace!

Stars and Stripes

July 2021

March on in!

In honor of Independence Day, the Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy will be performing Stars and Stripes. Stars and Stripes is a unique, patriotic tribute of pure dance, danced in five “campaigns.” It is set to the original music by John Philip Sousa, arranged by Hershy Kay. Don’t miss out on this patriotic performance the weekend before the Fourth of July! Start celebrating American Independence with the Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy’s performance of Stars and Stripes.

Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy students will also perform repertoire learned during the Summer Ballet Intensive during this performance.
