Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a popular, energetic form of dance allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities. This class is inspired by today’s latest music and hippest trends in dance. Age appropriate hip hop music and movement is used for each class.

Benefits: musicality, coordination, self confidence, endurance, and social interaction

Hip Hop I

Ages 7-9

Hip Hop I is an energetic class where dancers learn hip hop basics. Dancers typically spend two years at a level.

 

Dancers perform at the Winter and Spring Recital.

Time Commitment: Once a week for 60 minutes

Recommendation: to be taken with ballet

Max Enrollment: 12 students per class

Hip Hop II

Ages 8-10 years

In Hip Hop II dancers will  develop  technique, musicality, and coordination while exploring the different styles of hip hop. Dancers typically spend two years at a level.

Dancers perform at the Winter and Spring Recital.


Time Commitment: Once a week for 60 minutes

Recommendation: to be taken with ballet
Max Enrollment: 12 students per class

Hip Hop III

Ages 9-13 years

In Hip Hop III dancers will continue to develop their technique while improving their quality of moment and exploring challenging choreography. Dancers typically spend two years at a level.

 

Dancers perform at the Winter and Spring Recital.


Time Commitment: Once a week for 60 minutes 

Recommendation: to be taken with ballet
Max Enrollment: 15 students per class

Hip Hop IV

Ages 10+ years

In Hip Hop IV dancers will continue to work on hip hop technique until they are popping like a pro. The focus will be on steps, combinations, and performance pieces

Dancers perform at the Winter and Spring Recital.


Time Commitment: Once a week for 60 minutes 

Recommendation: to be taken with ballet
Max Enrollment: 15 students per class
