This year's Spring Recital will be Carnival of the Animals. All students, Bitty Bear Ballet and up, will perform in the Spring Recital at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in May!

Recital Fee

Recital/Production fees are included in tuition installments. They are non-refundable once processed. The production/recital fee covers the rental of the venue and equipment for rehearsals and performances, set/props, any licensing/permits required, staff and labor at the event, including teachers and technical support, and cleaning up after the event. It will also include your performance digital download.

Costume fees are included in Tuition installments.


All students in performing classes will require one costume per class they attend. For example, if you take one ballet class and one jazz class, you will need two costumes. All costumes will be ordered for you and are yours to take home after the Spring Recital.

  • Costumes will be distributed in class at the teacher’s discretion after costumes have arrived and payment is complete.

  • It is the students/parents responsibility to ensure care for all costumes pre-show and to transport them to the performance.

  • Alterations to costumes are the dancer’s responsibility.

  • Costumes are to be worn during dress rehearsal.

  • After the performance, it is the students/parents responsibility to take home any purchased costumes.

  • All costume pieces (and other belongings) should be labeled with the dancer’s names.

  • All costume fees are in addition to recital/production fees.

  • Costume fees are non-refundable once paid.

Stage Curtains

Chaperones and Backstage Info.


During rehearsals and performances only assigned chaperones will be allowed backstage. There will be chaperones for each class. Chaperones must attend the entire performance and the rehearsals. If you are interested in chaperoning please contract the front desk. Any concerns regarding the care of the children may be brought to the front desk before the date of the performance. Any parent who cannot respect this policy for any reason may be asked to withdraw their child from the show.

Carnival of the Animals tickets are available on Tickets start at $27. We highly recommend that you purchase your tickets early to ensure the best seats.

Recital Pictures


Recital pictures are taken during Dress Rehearsal at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Dancers should come in costume with hair and make up done. Pictures packages will be print only and must be Pre-Ordered.

Dancers will take individual and class photos. All dancers will take pictures.


​Pictures will be available 45 days from when the picture is taken.

Important Infomation

Carnival of the Animals is cast by class.


Studio Rehearsal will be at the Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy May 6, 8, & 9. Please see the schedule to see what rehearsal time you need to attend. This is mandatory. All dancers should come in class uniform.


Picture Day will happen during dress rehearsal at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Purchasing pictures is optional and must be done prior to the photo shoot. Click here for a picture order form.

Dress/Stage Rehearsal will be at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. It is mandatory. We want dancers to get a chance to be on the stage and become familiar with it before they perform so they can be successful. Once dancers have run their dance they are free to leave after they are checked out. We will text you when they are ready to go. Please do NOT come in costume but bring it. Costume will be left at the ACPA for be steamed and pressed before performing. Please wear ACBA warm ups or a ACBA shirt with moveable dance clothes when coming and leaving the theatre.
